How long a charge actually takes, for every EV on sale in Pakistan, at the speeds you will meet here. The number that matters is 20 to 80 percent — nobody charges from empty, and above 80 the car slows itself down to protect the battery.

Times are 20→80 percent, which is 60 percent of the pack. A charger faster than the car is capped at the car's own maximum, and DC power tapers as the battery fills, so the figures assume an average of 75 percent of the headline rate on DC and 95 percent on AC. Real sessions vary with battery temperature — a hot pack in July charges slower.
How to read it
Which column is yours
- 7 kW — a single-phase home wallbox, and most AC chargers at hotels and malls. This is the overnight column: you are asleep, so the number does not matter much.
- 22 kW — three-phase AC, at better-equipped destinations. Useful over a long lunch.
- 60 kW — the commonest DC fast charger in Pakistan by some distance. If you are planning a long drive, plan on this one.
- 120 kW and 180 kW — the fastest chargers on the network. 46 of the 78 DC chargers listed here are 100 kW or more, and they are concentrated on the motorways.
Two things the table cannot tell you. A charger rated at 120 kW does not always deliver it — it depends on the site's supply and on how many cars are plugged in. And your car's maximum is a peak, not an average: it holds the top rate for a slice of the curve and tapers away either side. Both are why the honest planning number is the one in this table rather than battery ÷ charger speed.

Questions about charging time
How long does it take to charge an electric car in Pakistan?
On the 60 kW DC chargers that are commonest here, a typical 60 kWh EV takes about 48 minutes from 20 to 80 percent. On a 7 kW home wallbox the same charge is roughly five hours, which is why home charging is an overnight habit rather than a wait.
Why 20 to 80 percent and not 0 to 100?
Because that is what people actually do. Below 20 percent you are into the reserve you should not be using, and above 80 percent the car cuts DC power sharply to protect the cells — the last 20 percent can take as long as the first 60. On a trip you leave at 80 and drive.
Does a faster charger always charge my car faster?
Only up to the car's own limit. A 30 kW car on a 180 kW charger charges at 30 kW. The table caps each car at its own maximum for exactly this reason, and it is worth knowing before you drive past a cheaper charger to reach a faster one.
How much does that charge cost?
At the subsidised off-peak home rate it is a few hundred rupees; at a public DC fast charger it is several thousand. Each model page works out its own figure, and the cost guide has the arithmetic in full.
